Examining Current Capability Levels

Once the required resources have been determined, the jurisdiction can then examine current capability levels and consider methods to manage risk and reduce requirements. The following are examples of questions that should be asked at this point: What requirements can be reduced through prevention, protection, and mitigation? What resources do we currently have that should be sustained? What resources are available through mutual aid or from the private sector? Which resources and capabilities need to be built?
