Basement Characteristics

On the following pages, we'll explore some characteristics of basements.

Notice the stairway going down to access the level below ground. It looks like this building might have a floor below ground level on all sides. Assuming that the building is the same all the way around, this below-ground floor is a basement as defined by the Standard Flood Insurance Policy.
