EC Items C2.a-h

Building Elevations

For EC Section C2, Items a-h, the professional surveyor must be careful to compare the elevations to the building diagram. For example, is the building really a slab on grade, which matches Diagram 1A, but you have mistakenly chosen Diagram 2A, a building with a basement? Item C2.a (the top of the bottom floor) will match Diagrams 1A and 2A, but as you shoot the remainder of the elevations you will find that C2.f, the LAG, and C2.g, the HAG, will match only Diagram 1A.

Surveyor's Tip: It's a common error for the certified information in C2.a–h not to support A7, the building diagram number. Comparing the Lowest Floor Guide found in the NFIP Flood Insurance Manual with EC Sections A and C will help avoid this mistake. Select this link to view the latest Flood Insurance Manual, then go to Appendix C: The Lowest Floor Guide.
