Dangers associated with hazardous materials facilities, such as oil or gas pipelines or nuclear power plants need to be considered as part of your community’s risk assessment. Industrial facilities may store large amounts of hazardous materials on their property, and even a small amount of hazardous materials can be an issue.

Funding for emergency management training related to hazardous chemicals may be available to your community under the Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act (SARA), Title III. Consult the list of Resources in the Toolkit for more information about SARA.
