The process of applying for IA can be confusing for a disaster survivor. As an IA employee, it is your job to make the process easier to understand. The Sequence of Delivery is the specific order in which assistance is provided to disaster survivors through FEMA and other disaster relief partners.
The purpose of the Sequence of Delivery is to ensure that:
- Applicants receive all the assistance they are legally entitled to as defined by FEMA policy and as regulated by Federal law.
- Applicants cannot receive assistance if assistance for the same purpose is provided from another source.
For example, if a disaster survivor has received funds from their insurance to replace a damaged roof, FEMA cannot provide a repair award to repair the same roof.
