Another structural attribute that can be selected within the SDE Tool concerns whether the structure has an HVAC system.

Although this is a simple Yes/No selection, there are a few important points to remember:

• An HVAC system in the SDE Tool is considered a built-in, thermostatically-controlled central heating and cooling system
• An HVAC system can be identified from the outside by the compressor unit that circulates the refrigerant in the system
• Portable window air conditioning units or other types of removable heating or cooling units would not be considered an HVAC system
• If these are the only types of heating or cooling systems in the household, you should select “None” for an HVAC
