Superstructure

The next structure attribute to consider is the building’s superstructure.

In layman’s terms, the superstructure refers to the bones of the structure and is the primary part of what is keeping the structure standing.

The superstructure does not refer simply to the exterior finish on the outside of the house, which may be made of a different type of material than the superstructure.

In the SDE Tool, there are four types of superstructures:

  • Stud-framed
  • Masonry
  • Insulated concrete forms (ICF)
  • Common brick
