Initial Site Visit (1 of 2)
| The initial site visit should be used to determine the finished floor elevation and low point of entry (LPE). LPE is not usually addressed on FEMA Elevation Certificates.
Identify:
- Lowest floor, which can be a basement slab
- All structure openings, which can include:
- Windows and doors
- Mechanical/electrical equipment penetrations and vents
- Drains and other floor penetrations
- Water spigots and other wall penetrations
- Finished floor elevation (unless already identified as the lowest floor elevation)
- Other site provisions that may require flood protection
- Elevation reference mark on or near the house
The initial site visit should also be used to complete an initial visual inspection to determine the general building condition.
