This allows you to relate distances measured on the flood map to actual distances on the ground. The scale shown on a Panel applies only to that Panel. Scale ratios can vary from panel to panel. The most commonly used scales on flood maps are one inch on the map equals 500, 1000, or 2000 feet on the ground.
