Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) are grouped into five alert classes:
-
Presidential (reserved for the Office of the President)
- AMBER (reserved for National Center for Missing and Exploited Children)
- Imminent Threat
- Public Safety
- WEA Test
Alerting Administrators will determine which event codes fit the criteria for Imminent Threat and/or Public Safety. In order to successfully send a WEA, an alert must adhere to the following requirements:
- Urgency: Immediate or Expected
- Severity: Extreme or Severe
- Certainty: Observed or Likely
