History

As the internet matured and content evolved on the web, not only did the volume of information expand greatly, but so too did expectations of this content. As internet access and bandwidth increased, information changed from being mostly text-based to being visually driven, with robust graphics, videos, and interactive content, most of which can (and should) be made accessible for those with access and functional needs.

At one time, it was simply important to get information on the web. Keeping that information current then became a challenge. Today, users and content generators expect to interact with one another directly, in real-time.

In this way, the internet has evolved from a static path of sharing information to a platform for all to contribute.
